About me
I love painting. Since childhood, I have enjoyed creative activities. Art has always played a major role in my life parallel with other things. In recent years I have found myself painting more than ever before.
When I haven’t painted for a longer period of time, I feel anxiety and frustration start to take over. I let this creative energy flow through me. I chose to overcome my doubts, gather my courage, and follow my heart.
When I sit down at the easel, I feel like I am going on an adventure with myself. In the process of painting, I learn, work, and play at the same time. I think this is a very good time for artists because there is a great deal of opportunity to experiment and try something new.
I am most inspired by people, their stories, nature, being in nature, long hikes, and the development and dynamics of various events.
The themes for my paintings are found here- in Latvia- in meadows and forests (mostly those forests around Ikšķile and Ogre).
I'm particularly fond of the Blue Mountains in Ogre, which are also depicted in several of my paintings, as well as the reproductions of paintings here. I feel we are lucky to live in such a beautiful and inspiring place.
